HOW TO GIVE A GREAT AUDITION
Before the Audition
- Do your homework
- Dress appropriately
- Bring a photo/resume
- Do vocal & physical warm-ups at home
- Arrive early
- Use restroom/touch up makeup/hair
- Do preparation/relaxation/breathing exercises
- Don’t chat with friends (until after your audition)
- Assume actor role
- Businesslike & self confident
- Pleasant & charming (smile; eye contact)
- Happy & excited
During the Audition
- Make sure the auditors can see you.
- Cheat out
- Hold script at chest level (don’t cover your face)
- Make sure the auditors can hear you
- volume (play to the back row)
- diction (don’t drop the consonants)
- speed (slow down)
- Follow directions
- Don’t make "mistakes"
After the Audition
- Smile and thank the auditors
- Don’t leave anything behind or ask questions
- Exit with self confidence
- Go home and eat ice cream
